GRAND BAY CO-OPERATIVE CREDIT UNION

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Member Service Representative/Teller at the Grand Bay Co-operative Credit Union Limited (GBCCU).

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Accounting Assistant, the Member Service Representative/Teller of the Grand Bay Cooperative Credit Union provides front desk services to members/customers to include receipt of deposits and loan payments; cashes checks, issues savings withdrawals, records mail deposits; handles customer inquiries and requests; performs accounting and other administrative duties; conducts Western Union transactions; makes recommendations on services and products of the Credit Union; ensures regulatory compliance and oversees compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Credit Union related policies and procedures for all products and services and customer transactions; and assists management in the monitoring & evaluation of its operations & investments. The Member Service Representative/Teller reports directly to the Accounting Assistant.

 

REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

An associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a teller, member/customer service, banking, credit union, or related financial services position would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong numerical, organizational, and analytical skills
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

                                     

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial procedures
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial record management
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection practices
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in accounting software would be an asset
